The problems of cultural-centerism in the article were observed in ancient Russia during the time of the king Alexei Mihailovich between Muscovites and foreigners. The aim of the research is to explore the identity of one nation through the prism of cultural and moral values of another nation based on the material of the novel "Altin-tolobas" by B. Akunina.There is explored the specificity of Russian life before Petrine period of the seventeenth century which is perceived by foreigners "from the outside and from above" and "at the level of eyes". The term of "Russianness" as quintessence of national identity in context of the later part of seventeenth century which contains the concepts of "home", "society" and "statehood". The concept of "...
